I just had a brief exchange with the folks at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and they confirmed that this immaculate !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! which I found last year, and which I ranked at the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , was indeed one of their builds. That means that it basically resides at the pinnacle of the already drool-worthy Grand Wagoneer heap, since they pretty much restore them to better-than-new condition. It also means that the owner, who I was able to compliment on his ride, likely dropped between !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on this gorgeous beast, assuming it wasn’t a commissioned restoration of a car he already owned.
It may be an excessive price to some, but you’d better believe that if I can ever afford a ski cabin in Vail or a summer home in Nantucket, it’s gonna have a Wagonmaster Grand Wagoneer in the garage.

Seeing how a lease spec X5 costs similar money, this doesn’t seem too insane if it is really gone over.

I don’t get the love for these things. My father had one all through my childhood and my memories of it are basically: drooping headliner, burning a quart of oil every 300 miles, being dangerously slow up hill with a small boat being towed, then overheating due to said boat and hill. And the rear window plus half the other power windows or locks never worked, the 4WD never engaged properly, and it broke down on more than one long trip requiring overnight stays.
The Tahoe he replaced it with is an infinitely better truck in every single way. But those rose colored glasses.

On the one hand, they should be kludgy, terribly-handling slushmobiles. On the other hand, they are simply gorgeous. Not sure how to reconcile those two things, but your ski chalet in Vail would be a great place to park one. I bet you could find some really expensive tires for it also.

Sounds like you had a rough example. Clean ones ride smooth, pull strong (if slow) and many people find them very cool, myself included.
